"The job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery." - Francis Bacon
Cos Ahmet's current work could be described as a ‘collective of body dialogue’. Themes of sexuality, identity and self are all recurring subjects that are constant in his work. Ahmet explores these through the structure of the figure, form and self, reconstructed into altered egos, metafigurative beings and grafted self portraits . In his practice, he works and thinks across disciplines and practice boundaries, engaging in a diverse range of media to create his work. The process results in the repetition of imagery. Echoes and trace elements emerge, the personal element is shaped and shifts through ‘gestured’, ‘sexualised’ and ‘fragmented’ bodies.

Cos Ahmet is currently working on a number of projects: MM1 Collaborative Project with Arbeit Gallery, London and Modern Art Israel Project and is working towards building a new body of work for his forthcoming One-Man Exhibition at Arbeit in September 2012
In May/June 2012, Cos will also be undertaking a mini Artist Residency at Keats House Museum, Hampstead. The project will revolve around John Keats love letter to Fanny Brawne, where Cos will create new works in response to the love letter and artefacts and objects presented at Keats House (formerly Wentworth Place), marking the return of the letter to the House. His residency will culminate in an exhibition of the works created with an all day workshop inspired by his residency during the Keats House Festival, 1-10 June 2012.
